There are primarily four types of precious gemstones such emerald, sapphire,diamond and ruby. Each of one has a particular meaning and values, which are mention below.

Diamond 

The name “Diamond” is derived from the Greek word “Adamas”. Diamond is the hardest and most prized gemstone on the earth. Diamonds are excellent for coughs and mucus troubles. In the various customs it is also consider for fertilizing rain. Emerald is mostly discovered in South Africa, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Egypt, Zimbabwe, and Norway.

Sapphire 

Sapphire is made of the mineral corundum. It is the second hardest natural gemstone on the earth. The word “Sapphire” means “Blue” in Greek. The sapphire is the symbol of heaven and joyful devotion to God. It is also popular as a “Stone of Destiny”. Sapphire plays a vital role in mental clarity and perception. It is also beneficial in improving economical status. The finest sapphire is available in dark blue color. Other colors of sapphire like pink, yellow, violet, green are also available. Sapphires are mainly found in Australia.

Ruby

Ruby is also made of the mineral corundum but it is available in red color. Ruby is considered as the most powerful gemstone in the universe. Ruby is filled with love hence it is believed as a symbol of love, friendship and royalty. Ruby is also called a “King of Gemstone”. Most of the rubies are discovered from Burma and Thailand.
